  1. When a fire breaks out, escape quickly and don't linger over possessions.
  2. Family members should learn and understand basic fire escape methods and be familiar with several escape routes.
  3. When threatened by fire, decisively put on wet clothes, bedding, etc., and rush towards the emergency exit.
  4. When escaping through heavy smoke, try to stay close to the ground and cover your mouth and nose with a wet towel.
  5. If your clothes catch fire, don't run. Roll on the ground or use a heavy garment to extinguish the flames.
  6. Do not use elevators in case of fire; escape towards the emergency exit.
  7. If there is a fire outside and the door is hot, do not open it to prevent the fire from spreading indoors. Use wet bedding, clothes, etc., to block doors and windows and pour water to cool them down.
  8. If all escape routes are blocked by fire, immediately return indoors, use a flashlight, wave clothes, call out, etc., to send distress signals out of the window and wait for rescue.
  9. Never jump from a building blindly. Use escape routes such as fire stairs, balconies, and drainpipes, or tear bedsheets and pillowcases into strips to make a rope, tie it securely to window frames, railings, etc., slide down the rope, or descend to an unburned floor to escape danger.
